For instance…one thing that needs to be considered is how much space is there to work with when rerouting water, vent and drain pipes.

Another thing to consider is how to design such a system.

Rex Cauldwell, starts out the first chapter of his book Remodel Plumbing (For Pros by Pros) with a fun story. He starts out…

“A friend of mine had just replaced the water supply pipes in his house. (We technical people call these pipes the water distribution system). As his wife took the first shower, he turned on the faucet to wash his hands. Her scream announced that all was not well with his design—her hot shower had just turned ice cold.”

He goes on to describe how a well designed system will deliver the proper pressure and the proper temperature to all areas needed in the house.

These things just don’t happen by luck…they need to be considered and planned by someone who knows the hows, the whys and the wheres of plumbing.

Then…your remodel won’t just look nice (like these pictures of the Squire remodel in this post) but things will function exactly the way they need to…so you don’t even notice.

That way your wife can take her shower and never even know you are washing your hands at the sink.
